The Design Process

The Design Process

Designing is a process. That’s why we carefully plan your dream space with you. We listen to your ideas and bring some of our own so that we can create a customized end result that meets your every need. We understand that no one knows better than you how the finished product needs to appear and function. Working with William C. Pritchard Co. guarantees that you’ll receive only the highest quality end result.

Preliminary Meeting

In this initial meeting, you’ll need to bring your house plans and any examples of things you like. The more magazine clippings, images and descriptions you bring with you the better.

Not exactly sure what you want? That’s where our talented team of designers comes in to help you find your style. In this meeting you can expect to receive a basic education of the process, including finishing options and types of countertops, how your space is built and an idea of the costs. We’ll talk through how you plan to use the space and what your needs are today as well as what they will be as your family grows.

Price ranges are discussed and information obtained in this meeting will result in a proposal for your project, a letter of intent and a good faith agreement.

Second Meeting

Our second meeting will involve a comprehensive review of 18×24 drawings. We will review the entire plan cabinet by cabinet including any interior and specialty features. This meeting also accomplishes the identification of specific stones and edges required for countertops. We will also review cabinet doors with the actual finish in place. This is the longest of our meetings and can range from 2-5 hours on average.

Third Meeting

Our third meeting will accomplish a final review of the cabinet drawing and selection of hardware. Exact finishes and countertop pieces are selected and signatures are obtained on each item.
